National Analytics, Raytheon
and Starsys, Inc. were brought
together to develop a Scan Mirror
Motor / Encoder Assembly (SMMA) used
on the Aerosol Polarimetry Sensor
on-board the National Aeronautic and
Space Administration (NASA) Glory
Spacecraft.
The SMMA is capable of
providing constant rotational speed
in one direction, collecting earth
atmospheric data for analysis over a
six year period. The SMMA is
controlled by electronics within
Raytheon's APS Electronics Module in
orbit and simulated electronics on
the ground through the Starsys' and
National Analytics' designed Motor
Test Stand.
