"Bringing Energy and the Environment Into Harmony" is the goal of Dresser-Rand Enginuity in serving our customers in the natural gas industry.  A key means to help our customers achieve reductions in air emissions is through providing advanced engine controls and platforms that enable natural gas engines to run more reliably and efficiently, as well as enabling a changing workforce to leverage modern toolsets for diagnostics and troubleshooting.

We have been able to accomplish this through close collaboration with National Analytics.  National Analytics has brought a unique combination of diverse industry experience, innovation, development capabilities and tools through their mastery of the National Instruments platform and LabVIEW software to accelerate our development of such engine control solutions.  The NI platform for data acquisition, on-board data processing and analysis, and engine/compressor control advances capabilities far beyond what is typically in use today.  Further the National Analytics PORT system provides a platform not only to collect, manage and view large quantities of data from multiple systems in the field, it also enables the remote management of the control systems saving our customers time and money to track their assets and keep them running optimally.

Applying these advancements to engine controls offers the market significant benefits.  Achieving even small percentages of additional availability of the engine/compressor package can up to tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to the end customer's profits.  The ability to optimize how the package runs through adapting to line pressure or well-head and gathering field conditions further enables similar revenue opportunities for the end customer.  In addition, lease/packaging companies are better able to offer and comply with service availability agreements offered to their gas customers, saving the packagers tens of thousands of dollars in credits back in non-compliant situations.

In helping Dresser-Rand Enginuity achieve these solution goals, National Analytics applied a full range of critical skillsets in project management, design, architecture, development and testing.  National Analytics has worked to intimately understand our end customer and market needs for the joint solution development effort.  It has been not only easy, but very effective for our own staff to work with National Analytics' personnel as though we are one seamless and unified team.
